June 25, 2009

Richmond, Virginia - Congratulations to Benton Maddox for winning the Digital Innovations Group (DIG) Design and Marketing Internship and Scholarship.

DIG awarded the $500 scholarship and internship to Benton on June 1. He will be working at DIG from June to August gaining real world experience and using his creative and design talents. He is also posting a weekly blog on DIG's web site called "Intern Rounds" to track his experience.

"Our intern will have the opportunity to work on client projects and experience the whole process from selling to implementation," notes Kate Dunn, president of DIG.

Benton graduated from Benedictine High School and is attending Clemson University this fall. He plans on majoring in food science technology in the School of Agriculture. During his time at Benedictine, he played football and lacrosse, was co-editor of the yearbook and was a member of the National Honor Society and Quill and Scroll.

"I enjoy the tight-knit office and the people in it. This should not only be an educational experience but a fun one as well," Benton observes.

"The quality of the students that have interned with us over the years has been exceptional. We are especially happy to have the opportunity to formalize the program with Benedictine because of their focus on leadership. We are excited about the opportunity to help young people from Benedictine see how the leadership principles they've learned through their scholastic, military and athletic endeavors can be used in the business world. It's our hope to offer this scholarship and internship every year," Dunn adds.
