Charlotte-based ad agency Boone Oakley recently moved its entire corporate Web site to You Tube. It uses catchy stick-figure animation for the main page and links to video clips to showcase its services and client work.
They have differentiated their firm. The new site appeals to the types of clients they are looking to attract, the likes of State Farm, HBO and MTV.
Boone Oakley is taking a risk, a big one. But if they position themselves as the agency of choice for clients who are looking for this type of differentiation in their marketing, they can win big.
Companies are not successful because they do the same thing everyone else does. To capture new opportunities, you have to forge a new path.
