Act
Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others' actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others' activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others. ~The Dalai Lama

Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework. ~Thomas Edison

Using Mobile for Email Campaigns
By: Blaine Mathieu, the CMO for Lyris, Inc.

Benefits of Mobile Marketing

     1. Intimate (it is always with you)
     2. Urgent (sense of immediacy)
     3. Relevant (right time, right info)

Here are some interesting facts that I learned at my webinar:
     - There are over 258 million wireless lines in the United States- that is a per capita wireless phone penetration of over 80%
     - 49% of mobile users in the United States actively use SMS regularly in any given month
     - Globally, there are two times as many users of SMS as there are active users of email
     - SMS is typically read within 15 minutes of receipt, and responded to within 60 minutes
     - 65% or more of email is spam, while less than 10% of SMS is spam

Reasons why you should combine email and mobile marketing:
     - To drive engagement
     - To breathe new life into email
     - To deepen brand awareness
     - To provide more immediacy and relevance
     - To expand subscriber base
     - To build customer retention and loyalty
     - To acquire new customers
     - To improve ROI

One idea that was presented was to offer mobile-only incentives in exchange for email opt-in and vice versa. This would not only increase customer engagement with the promotional offer, but also would build your email and SMS lists.

The best way to measure your mobile marketing success is to measure by the number of subscribers. The most effective way to use mobile marketing is to integrate it with email marketing, social media and even print advertising.
