It's what you learn after you know it all that counts. ~Harry S. Truman

Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others' actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others' activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others. ~The Dalai Lama

Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework. ~Thomas Edison

Increase Your Social Media Marketing ROI for Businesses and Executives

Why should you participate in social media?
- generate exposure
- increase traffic
- build new business partnerships
- bring in new qualified leads (has a high conversion rate because they already know you and like you)

There are five steps to social media success and you must do all five to be successful. It's an "all or nothing" approach.
1. strategy
2. establish presence
3. expand reach
4. nurture relationships
5. properly maintain presence

Here are some examples of what you can do with Twitter...
promote contests, share timely information, spread useful links, personify your brand, build credibility and influence and follow your competitors.

When tweeting... DO sound like someone who just happens to work at your company, DO put a friendly face on your product, DO answer and pose questions to engage with others and DO announce sales, deals, news & updates and build buzz for upcoming events and big releases. DON'T sound like a press release (you are a person) and DON'T SPAM with constant links to your company website.

Some other DOs and DON'Ts within social networking: DO create a page to promote your brand, DO point your fans to your blog and contests, DO encourage discussion and participate frequently and DO explore targeted advertising opportunities. DON'T create a page and fail to maintain it, DON'T try a hard sell approach, DON'T censor comments, DON'T post false information and again, DON'T SPAM your friends/fans within direct messages or posts because you will eventually drive them away.

In particular, when networking on Facebook, do not sell your business, its services or even yourself. That is not Facebook's purpose. The purpose of Facebook is to network with others and possibly create relationships that will turn into business opportunities.

One of the most important points that I can make is that you need to show your personal side when tweeting or connecting on ANY social media site in order to capitalize on the conversation! You need your audience to know that there is a person on the other end of the conversation, not an automated update.

Once you have connected with people on one site, invite them to connect with you on all the others as well. There are many social networking sites out there besides Twitter and Facebook. Make sure you are also connecting on: biznikFast Pitch NetworkingPlaxoLinkedInMerchant Circle, and QAlias. Make sure you research your industry and see if there are any other networking sites out there that are specific to your company's industry. The more they get to know you, the more likely they will end up liking you and want to do business with you.

If you don't have time for social media, outsource with a company who can do it for you. Proper execution yields returns, but comes with the cost of time! If you can't find the time to tweet or connect on LinkedIn, work with a company that can represent you. When you outsource you have the ability to spend that valuable time converting the leads generated into sales. If you feel like you fall into this category, click here to get more information.

Lastly and I cannot stress this enough... Stay connected!! Out of sight, out of mind! Don't let this happen!

Tip of the Day: Word of mouth conversation has the impact of 200 TV ads!
